Hungary's annualized consumer price index stood at 3.8% in November, down from 4.3% in October, according to data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Tuesday show.
Food prices rose 3.2%, but increased just 0.6% excluding the price of eating out. The price of eggs jumped 11.2% and cooking oil prices climbed 10.1%, but the price of flour dropped 15.3%, dairy product prices fell 11.4%, the price of milk was down 8.1% and pork was 7.8% cheaper.
Household energy prices rose 9.8% as piped gas prices climbed 22.0% and electricity prices increased 2.1%.
Consumer durable prices rose 2.9%. Motor fuel prices fell 5.0%.
Prices of spirits and tobacco products increased 7.5% and clothing prices rose 1.4%. Service prices were up 6.5%.
CPI adjusted for better comparison with other European Union member states was 3.7%.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile fuel and food prices, was 4.1%.
The CPI calculated with a basket of goods and services used by pensioners was 3.7%.
In a month-on-month comparison, consumer prices edged up 0.1%. Food prices, excluding the price of eating out, were unchanged. Service prices edged down 0.1%, household energy prices slipped 0.4% and motor fuel prices dropped 0.6%.
