Valley of Arts Festival to Feature 4,500 Programs This Year

The 35th Valley of Arts festival, to be held between July 24 and Aug 2 this year in three villages north of Lake Balaton, will feature some 4,500 programs and 5,000-6,000 artists, organizers said on Tuesday.

Festival director Natália Oszkó-Jakab stated the festival was built on partnership, respect and a love of diversity.

the village of Vigántpetend will have venues dedicated to Roma art, poetry and new circus arts, she said. It will also offer performances by the Danubia Orchestra and pop artists such as Zsuzsa Koncz, Zorán and Budapest Bár. The Duda Éva dance company will also perform. The Papageno Klasszik stage will feature Finnish and Dutch artists and a Spanish baroque choir, she added.

In Kapolcs, the festival's largest stage, Panoráma will feature performers such as Esti Kornél, Elefánt, Jose Gonzalez, the Bagossy Brothers, Carson Coma, Blahalouisiana, Belga, Kispál és a Borz, Punnany Massif, Beton.Hofi and others.

The artistic director of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, István "Szalonna" Pál, said the concert marking the 25th anniversary of the House of Tradition and the 35th anniversary of Valley of Arts, with artists linked to folk art such as Marton Agocs, Daniel Gryllus and Balazs Szabo, will also take place on the Panorama stage.

Taliándörögd will host theater programs, the Harcsa Veronika stage and programs organized by the Reformed, Evangelical and Catholic churches, Natália Oszko-Jakab said. The village will also host concerts by Hiperkarma, Ivan and the Parazol, Bori Péterfy and others, she added.
