Low-cost carrier Wizz Air will operate 1,200 flights a day across its entire network in the summer season, the company said in a statement.

Wizz Air will add 15 new flights and 19 new aircraft, with capacity rising close to 3m this summer, up 30% from a year earlier.

Based on the experience of recent years, the airline will once again introduce extraordinary measures to ensure safe and peaceful travel, it said.

A summer action group will be set up in the flight operations center to ensure immediate response in the event of a disruption. Specialists will be on a 24-hour hotline with the center, customer service, ground handlers and communications staff. Operations will also be assisted by artificial intelligence, and departure of the first morning flights will be brought forward to make the daily schedule more predictable.

Wizz Air has also introduced an optional disruption assistance service, offering priority rebooking or refund options in the event of delays or cancellations.
