First-half net income of Hungarian hauler Waberer's rose 24% year-on-year to EUR 25.9 million, an earnings report published on Thursday shows.
Excluding the impact of unrealized financial gains, net income fell 20% to EUR 14.2 million. Earnings per share reached EUR 1.3.
Revenue rose 9% to EUR 435.0 million. Revenue of the logistics business rose 7% to EUR 342 million and revenue of the insurance business climbed 20% to EUR 93 million.
Waberer's had 971 trucks in its fleet at the end of June.
Chairman-CEO Barna Zsolt said Waberer's core logistics business had "remained stable" in the first half, while the insurance business, boosted by the acquisition of Hungarian Post Insurance, demonstrated "stable earnings-generating capacity." He acknowledged the impact on the company of a slowdown in the Hungarian construction sector and said Waberer's had not started any new third-party warehouse development projects in 2026.
He affirmed earlier earnings guidance for 2026 and said Waberer's would continue "to exercise strict cost and efficiency control throughout the remainder of the year."
