Hungarian oil and gas company MOL on Tuesday announced the construction of a HUF 5.5 billion hydrocarbon collection center near three wells in Vecsés on the outskirts of the capital.
Hydrocarbons from the three wells in Vecsés, which now account for around 30% of MOL's domestic crude production, will be consolidated at the collection center before delivery to the Danube Refinery, reducing tanker transport.
The center could start operating early in 2027.
MOL's domestic crude production exceeded 600,000 tons in 2025. Gas production was close to 1.5 billion cubic meters.
The three Vecsés wells have produced over half a million tons of crude, so far.
