Magyar Suzuki Plc. has had a balanced, stable year, successfully maintaining its position in the Hungarian automotive market in 2025, Fumito Sakai, CEO of Magyar Suzuki Plc., said in his assessment of the past year at a press conference in Budapest on Thursday.
Last year, the company's Esztergom plant produced 108,072 cars, and the company sold a total of 109,994 vehicles worldwide, including imported models.
The CEO noted that over the past 35 years, seven different models – totaling approximately 4 million cars – have been produced at the Esztergom plant.
The Japanese owner’s goal is for Magyar Suzuki to remain a relevant European base in the coming period, emphasized Fumito Sakai.
Suzuki’s response to the challenges of the automotive industry is pragmatic modernization and a gradual approach to electrification, he added. In line with the Japanese manufacturer’s global strategy, it will launch four electric models by 2030, one of which is the e-Vitara. They are analyzing when production of electric models should begin at the Esztergom plant.
According to Deputy CEO Krisztián Róbert, 88.2% of the vehicles manufactured in Esztergom last year were exported to more than 100 countries worldwide (116,500 cars were produced in Esztergom in 2024).
In 2025, the Suzuki brand maintained its leading position in the Hungarian market for new passenger cars, with sales of 14,285 vehicles accounting for an 11.04% market share. Of the cars sold, 5,590 were Vitara models and 6,500 were S-Cross models.
