German retail chain Aldi's Hungarian companies will create 250 new commercial, logistics and IT jobs in Hungary by the end of the year, according to Aldi Magyarország Managing Director Bernhard Haider.
They are looking for 100 new employees in their stores, and the cold storage warehouse in Biatorbágy, which will be completed in the autumn, will enable the recruitment of 50 logistics employees. The 8,800-square-meter facility, which will be built from approximately HUF 6 billion, will double Aldi's cooling capacity in Hungary. The benefits of this will be seen by customers in the variety of goods offered in Aldi stores.
Due to the economic difficulties, Bernhard Haider considers it particularly important that Aldi offers new jobs, but also emphasized the development of sustainability and supplier relationships. By 2025, all of the chain’s own-brand products will receive fully recyclable packaging, but their use will also be reduced by 15%. In addition, the offer of Hungarian products is expanding, and the director is also confident that Aldi will be able to establish supplier relationships with new domestic companies. Local entrepreneurs are assisted in this by a program developed with the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, but Aldi also supports the export of Hungarian goods abroad, the director said.
