Busch-Hungária Ltd. produced about 43,000 tons of heavy vehicle parts last year, which increased the production volume of the iron foundry by 20%. The company based in Győr, NW Hungary, is part of the BPW Group.
In a statement to the the state news agency MTI, the Managing Director of Busch-Hungária, Dávid Hegymegi, said that the company's outstanding performance in the European iron foundry market was based on technological developments: a five-year innovation period was concluded, during which EUR 19 million (or HUF 7.2 billion) worth of improvements were made.
These investments led to a 25% increase in melting capacity at the end of last year, which increased the amount of raw material that can be processed by one and a half times compared to 2017.
The plant's utilization rate was raised to over 80% and technical availability was maximized.
The Győr-based company's turnover last year was around EUR 66.5 million (HUF 25.1 billion), an increase of 53% compared to the previous year.
Its after-tax profit for 2021 exceeded EUR 150,000 (HUF 56.7 million).
The company, which employs 360 people, will continue to invest in capacity expansion and efficiency improvements in the coming years, while also continuously modernizing its premises and office buildings.
Busch-Hungária is Hungary's largest iron foundry and a leading player in the European iron foundry market.
At its headquarters in Győr, it produces 83,000 square meters of high-value ductile castings for the commercial vehicle industry.
Its current product portfolio consists of wheel hubs, chassis components, brake calipers, differential housings and steering gear housings.
