GLS Hungary and DPD Hungary have entered into a strategic partnership to make parcel collection more flexible, thanks to which DPD parcels in Hungary will also be available for collection from a significant number of GLS parcel machines, according to a joint statement issued by the two companies to MTI.
The statement said that GLS Hungary opened its parcel locker network to other parcel logistics providers and retailers with physical store networks in June 2025, with DPD Hungary being the first to join the system, but negotiations are already underway with several other companies. GLS introduced a similar cooperation system in Germany and the Czech Republic this year.
The parties did not wish to disclose the financial terms of the cooperation.
There are currently more than 9,400 parcel machines in operation in Hungary, of which 2,600 belong to GLS and around 350 to DPD.
Under the agreement, DPD will be able to use more than 1,400 of GLS's machines, providing its customers with around 3,000 delivery points from January 1, 2026.
GLS Hungary is a parcel logistics provider with a network of more than 2,000 couriers, 88 depots, a central parcel sorting facility, and more than 3,500 delivery points, covering the entire territory of Hungary.
