As part of its global renovation program, JYSK opened its 2,000th remodeled store in Gödöllő this Wednesday, and the home furnishing chain also opened its 92nd store in Hungary in Nagyatád.
According to the company statement released on Wednesday, the Danish retail chain started one of the largest renovation programs in its history in 2021, with all 3,200 of its stores worldwide to be renovated by the end of 2024. As part of this, they reopened their modernized store in Gödöllő, just east of Budapest, an establishment, which has a floor area of 948 square meters.
JYSK will continue its expansion, opening four more stores in Hungary by the end of the year, in addition to the new one in Nagyatád, SW Hungary. They already have 60 stores in Hungary that have been renovated; so far this year they have renovated seven stores and will renovate 11 more by the end of December, they said.
JYSK is present in 48 countries and founder Lars Larsen opened his first store in Denmark in 1979. With 30,000 employees, the JYSK group had a turnover of EUR 4.87 billion in the 2021-22 financial year.
In Hungary, JYSK achieved a turnover of HUF 67.6 billion in the 2021-22 financial year (September 2021 to August 2022), 19% more than a year earlier.
