Since spring 2019, Market Építő Plc. and its subsidiaries have completed more than EUR 367 million worth of site preparation and complete infrastructure works on 400 hectares on behalf of the City of Debrecen and the BMW Group. The construction company has informed that it had also completed the full construction of four buildings within the framework of eight projects.
The most complex and highly technologically demanding production hall of the BMW plant in Debrecen with a floor area of 140,000 square meters, the assembly plant and the associated infrastructure, as well as three smaller facilities covering a total area of 9,000 square meters, were handed over to the customer by Market.
The eight projects carried out by the group included the conversion of the land into a construction site, during which one and a half million cubic meters of earth were excavated, moved and set in place to centimeter precision by the specialists. The works also included the construction of staging facilities.
However, the key elements of the project – and the major professional challenge – were the construction of the Training Center, the fire brigade operations building and the facility that controls the entire sprinkler system of the factory complex, as well as the completion of the assembly plant, which is the heart of the production.
The latter building, which covers 140,000 square meters, houses not only the production area but also offices, logistics units, changing rooms and spaces for the operation of the mechanical and low-voltage systems, all of which were built by the Market Group, the release said.
According to the public company data, Market Építő Plc's turnover was HUF 321.69 billion last year and HUF 306.04 billion in 2022. Its profit fell to HUF 21 billion from HUF 34 billion in 2022.
