Market Építő Plc.'s after-tax profit reached HUF 30.51 billion in 2024, an increase of more than HUF 9 billion compared to the same period last year, while the construction company's revenue decreased from HUF 321.69 billion in 2023 to HUF 307.43 billion in 2024, the construction company said on Tuesday on the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) website.
The company, which is listed as a bond issuer on the stock exchange, stressed in a statement sent to MTI that the stability and adaptability of its operations is shown by the fact that it has achieved sales revenues of over HUF 300 billion for the third year in a row, while it has been able to increase its profitability. They added that the company had achieved this performance in a challenging economic environment.
They stressed that the increase in profitability was mainly due to the conscious optimisation of internal processes year on year, strict cost management and the expansion of data-driven operations.
As a general contractor, Market Építő Plc. has been a player in the Hungarian building construction market for almost 30 years. With around 550 employees, the company has traditionally focused its activities on the free market, as confirmed by the 2024 figures: almost 80% of the company's turnover came from the competitive sector.
Market's portfolio continues to be dominated by industrial and logistics investments, complemented by significant office, residential, hotel, sports and other public facility developments, they said.
