The production stoppage due to a shortage of spare parts stretched over three weeks.
From Monday this week, the Mercedes-Benz factory in Kecskemét, E Hungary, has resumed production, the business daily Világgazdaság reports. The newspaper reminds that the automotive company announced at the end of July that it would take a three-week break in production due to a shortage of parts.
According to the information at the time, the factory was adapting to the situation by flexibly adjusting its production program, using the production breaks of calendar weeks 30, 31 and 32 for maintenance activities and preparations for the series production of the new model. The shutdown also lasted for the 33rd week, as planned, Világgazdaság reported.
Semiconductor circuit maker Intel said on April 22 that it did not see an end to the shortage of electronic components on the international market. Because of this, the Mercedes factory in Kecskemét has already experienced a similar shutdown in January and April this year.
