Budapest Airport is expanding its offer with a new service: it is the first in Europe to partner with Wolt and enable passengers to order in advance from restaurants and cafés at Ferenc Liszt International Airport. With the mobile application, fast and contactless orders can now be placed, paid and picked up at the food and beverage outlets located at the airport, without waiting.
Most of the restaurants and cafés in the transit area after passenger screening have joined the new service, which is available to all travelers as of today, according to a press release by Budapest Airport.
From now on, buying food at Budapest Airport is even easier, faster and safer for passengers, as they can order from most restaurants at Terminal 2 of Ferenc Liszt International Airport using the Wolt application, on their mobile phones. The cooperation of Budapest Airport and Wolt Magyarország Kft. enables passengers to place their orders without waiting and provides contactless payment, which reduces personal contact to a minimum during food pickup and ensures social distancing. Passengers can then pick up their orders and enjoy them at the dining tables in the transit area, or take them on board.
Departing passengers will be able to access the menus of participating restaurants once they are in the area of the airport. The details of the participating outlets can be found in the Wolt application and on Budapest Airport’s website. The service is initially only available for people with boarding passes and airport employees, as orders must be picked up directly from the restaurants and cafés, after passenger screening. Payment is instantaneous via the application, and customers receive a notification when their order is ready.
