For the first time in the history of the Hungarian-Croatian touristic relations, the number of guest nights by Hungarians in Croatia exceeded three million in 2017, the Croatian Tourist Board informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.
Marin Skenderovic, head of the Croatian state tourism representation office in Budapest, said that the record for the previous years was again broken by Hungarian travelers last year, as in the course of 2017, 11.6% more Hungarian guests stayed in the Adriatic for 9.3% of time than in the previous year. Hungary was the 8th largest sending market to Croatia last year.
After nearly 513,000 people in 2016, more than 572,000 Hungarian tourists visited Croatia last year. The number of guest nights, following 2.753 million in 2016, exceeded three million last year by more than ten thousand.
The tourism expert also told MTI that, according to the growth trend of recent years, the number of Hungarian tourists in Croatia is expected to exceed 600,000 in 2018.
