Utilisation of Hungary's ZalaZONE vehicle proving ground will climb in 2026 as the track in Zalaegerszeg (SW Hungary) draws more business partners and further investments, the head of the board of trustees of the ZalaZONE Foundation, László Palkovics said at a press conference on site on Monday.
He projected that new capacities would come to ZalaZONE, adding that talks were underway with big companies on making investments and buying services at the test track.
Fielding questions, he said around 80 automotive industry businesses were repeat customers at the track, and companies from China and Turkey had expressed interest in using ZalaZONE. He added that the track's operator, Autoipari Próbapálya, had finished 2025 in the black. He highlighted new capacity of big car makers such as BMW, Mercedes and BYD in Hungary.
It was also revealed AVL, Bosch, Rheinmetall and Flex had completed industrial investments around the track.
