Hungarian poet and literary translator, Dániel Varró has joined the initiative to deliver freshly baked pastries to a medical institution that helps sick children to recover. The campaign is being implemented by Provident Finance Ltd., with the participation of the Magic Lamp Foundation, the main organizer of the charity collection, and Ludwig and Mentesi Ltd., the operator of the Jókenyér bakery.
Five new stories, one of which is unfinished, have been written by Dániel Varró specifically for the initiative. To complete it, the organizers will be looking for children's ideas, and the best and most interesting story will be awarded in a competition.
"We will contribute to the children's recovery with a smile and the joy of creativity, because the packaging of the products will be a coloring book to mobilize their creativity and imagination", Éva Patzauer, the creator of the initiative, said.
The importance of this was also recognized by the writer Dániel Varró, who was happy to join the initiative and write stories to be illustrated by Ágnes Bogár on the packaging of the products.
The three organizations have long been working together to save the fresh, unsold products made in the afternoon in the Jókenyér bakeries. These high-quality pastries are destined to be destroyed if they are not utilized. To avoid this, the products of Jókenyér are donated by Provident to children recovering from serious illnesses, with the help of the Magic Lamp Foundation. Last year, 26 volunteers took part in the initiative, volunteering their free time to deliver the freshly made, but stocked, pastries to the hospital from the three participating shops. This year the program runs from the beginning of November to the end of December.
Márta Pálfalvi, Director of Communications and Corporate Relations at Provident Financial Ltd. pointed out that "we would do a lot to help our children recover and put a smile on their faces when they go to hospital. This is what we set out to do with the Magic Lamp Foundation and Jókenyér when we started this collaboration, which we are now adding new content to. Creative work helps children to remain children in difficult moments and to live, even if only for a short time, a story that they can complete themselves. We believe that we can contribute to their early recovery."
