Dr. László T. Hetzman, the permanent Hungarian head doctor of the Formula 1 world championship series, is putting up for auction a race suit as well as a helmet and gloves worn - and signed - by the defending champion, three-time world champion Max Verstappen, the Dutch pilot of Red Bull.
On the occasion of the 39th Hungarian Grand Prix on July 21, the medical delegate of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) is auctioning off the special items used during the last season, which visited all the F1 race venues, through SOS Children's Villages.
The Dutch pilot dedicated the suit, helmet and gloves at the personal request of the Hungarian chief physician.
"When I could, I supported children in need in the past, and since I have been a father myself for a few months now, I feel the importance of this even more. I am very happy that this donation can be realized with the support of the FIA, and I am confident that through SOS Children's Villages, many children will be able to benefit with this," László T. Hetzman said.
The 39th Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix will be held at the Hungaroring on the weekend of July 19-20-21.
