Spar Hungary spent more than HUF 1.8 billion to modernize two of its supermarkets in Budapest and one in nearby Dunakeszi, the grocery chain said on Thursday.
On Thursday, the company reopened a store in Budapest’s 13th district, which was renovated with an investment of HUF 677.5 million.
The sales area has been expanded to 723 square meters and features a completely new interior design and state-of-the-art equipment. The store’s entrance and facade have also been renovated, with energy-efficient operation ensured by LED lighting and state-of-the-art carbon dioxide-based cooling technology. The door-equipped design of the refrigeration units further reduces energy consumption. The store employs 22 staff members.
A total of HUF 552.6 million was spent on renovating the supermarket in District XVII. The store, which reopened at the end of July, features a 698-square-meter sales area with a completely new interior design and state-of-the-art equipment; the building’s facade has also been renovated. To improve energy efficiency, this store also uses LED lighting and environmentally friendly, carbon dioxide-based cooling technology. The store employs 14 people.
Also in July, the supermarket in Dunakeszi, north of the capital, reopened following a HUF 636 million investment. In the 844-square-meter sales area, shoppers are greeted by state-of-the-art equipment and a new visual design; as part of the modernization, the proportion of self-service solutions was expanded, and the storefront was also renovated. Energy-efficient operations are further supported by LED lighting and carbon dioxide-based cooling technology. The store employs 17 staff members.
