This Sunday, at 3 p.m. in the afternoon, the world famous Budapest Strings Chamber Orchestra will be performing on the terrace of Café Gerbeaud with 16 musicians.
The free concert at Vörösmarty square in downtown Budapest is expected to be a unique experience that follows the success of the Petit Gerbeaud Zsúr in a series of weekend events which pair delicious cakes and great music in the spirit of what the world renowned Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály said: "Music belongs to everyone!"
In 2001, the Budapest Strings Chamber Orchestra won the Bartók-Pásztory prize, which is the most prestigious award in Hungary for professional musicians. In 2007, they won the Art Prize given by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and in 2008 they won an Artisjus Prize. The Orchestra has been a part of the Hungarian music elite for decades.
The special concert on Sunday will be led by Kossuth and Liszt Prize winning cellist Károly Botvay, the lead violin will be Liszt Prize winner János Pilz, but you can also meet the young Aleksander Simic, who rose to prominence with the TV show Virtuózok and has since won a major international competition in New York and debuted in Carnegie Hall this February with a full house concert.
István Pikács, the winner of the National Bar Pianist Competition will be on hand and play for Gerbeaud guests this weekend. too.

In addition to the musical performances, guests can enjoy the menu of Petit Gerbeaud like cakes, pastries, light meals and freshly made, additive-free ice cream.
The event of great flavors and melodies is child and pet friendly.
