A mini Hungary model park has opened in the local arboretum in Szarvas, east-central Hungary. The new tourist attraction of the town comprises of miniature replicas of most famous building complexes of Budapest and the countryside.

Mini Hungary includes 22 buildings on more than two hectares, and it is located in the geometric center of historic Hungary. The project has been created as a private enterprise, on the model of Brussels’ Mini Europe and Klagenfurt’s Minimundus model parks.

Hungary’s border is indicated by red-leaved shrubs, while the two major rivers, the Danube and the Tisza, are shown by lines of pebbles. The other major features include Lake Balaton and Budapest, the latter being symbolized by the Parliament building, the Széchenyi Baths and Heroes' Square, among others.

Visitors can see the castle of Eger with the famous siege scene from 1552, the Dóm cathedral of Szeged and the Ornamental Palace of Kecskemét, as well. The models are of fire resistant material to withstand extreme weather.
