This year's Fall Festival of Museums, which will take place from September 25 to November 12 across Hungary, will focus on the relationship between science and technology, the authentic communication of scientific findings and the links between science and museums.

According to Zsolt Bernert, Director General of the Hungarian Museum of Natural History, "in today's world, the role of museums in sharing authentic scientific information is growing. One of the means of doing this is to present authentic, verified artefacts from museums.”

Miklós Cseri, Director General of the Open Air Museum of Ethnography, stressed that this year's festival will bring together 127 museums and more than 1,400 programs for the public across the country. "The museum world is the most exciting, diverse and opportunity-rich area of the cultural scene, and visitors need us," the director general stressed, adding that despite this, there is always a need for highlights to bring these institutions into focus.

This year, the institutions participating in the series have organized their programs around ten themes. New this year is the 'Just Natural' theme, which focuses on programs related to natural sciences, nature studies and environmental awareness. This year's theme, aimed at young people, is ‘Get on track!’ and will showcase the tools museums can use to reach young people and support them in developing their skills or choosing a career.

Under the sub-title 'Museum secrets behind the scenes', visitors to museums can gain insights into materials that are hidden from the everyday view of museum visitors or into the work of museum professionals, while the theme 'Our values recharged' aims to showcase the protection of intangible cultural heritage through creative museum tools. The Fit Museum program focuses on health and wellbeing through museum tools, while the Museum's break-time events offer children and families a chance to relax during the fall break.
