On June 27–28, Korean culture once again took center stage on Margaret Island, where the Kristály Színtér venue hosted this year's KoreaON 2025 festival. The two-day free event attracted huge interest again this year, with more than 10,000 visitors coming to take part in the celebration of Korean cuisine, music, dance and crafts.
The program featured performances by the South Korean vocal ensemble Sweet Sorrow, the Kkokdu Gwangdae theater company, K-pop dance groups, and traditional artists. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about Korean fermented foods and participate in cultural workshops and spectacular performances.
KoreaON's goal continues to be to build bridges between Hungarian and Korean culture, a mission that the Korean Cultural Center and the Hanyou Foundation work together to achieve year after year. This year's visitor numbers and positive feedback show that the festival is becoming increasingly popular and has become an important, unmissable event in Budapest's summer program.
