Following a visit to Moscow, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was in the Hungarian capital this Thursday and held talks with Hungarian officials such as Presdient János Áder and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
Hungary has a vested interest in close cooperation with Brazil. That is according to Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán who spoke after talks with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, adding that the two countries applied the same approach to global challenges, which offered a stable foundation for their partnership.
He was of the opinion that Hungary and Brazil share similar positions on the issues of migration, aiding persecuted Christians, defending against attacks on families, their commitment to free trade and military development.
Jair Bolsonaro stressed that his visit would be an opportunity to deepen relations between the two countries, including those in the economic field. The President said that his talks in Hungary were useful and that, in addition to declarations of cooperation, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict was also discussed. Arriving to Hungary from Moscow, Jair Bolsonaro stressed that war is in no one's interest and that everyone stands to lose. He also said that there are around 100,000 Hungarians living in Brazil and there are many Brazilians studying in Hungary.
