The departing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary, Chung-Ha Suh has been given a high state distinction by the President of the Republic of Hungary for his three-year activity in deepening Hungarian-Korean relations.
The President of the Republic of Hungary, Pál Schmitt handed over the Commander's Cross Order of Merit of the Republic Of Hungary to the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Hungary, Chung-Ha Suh in the Sándor Palace Wednesday.
Ambassador Chung-Ha Suh took up his position in Hungary in September 2008. According to the laudation speech by President Schmitt, the Ambassador played an outstanding role in fostering bilateral political and economic relations.
During the Ambassador's term, Hungary and Korea celebrated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, an occasion that was made memorable with a rich series of events.
Ambassador Suh's personal commitment played an important role in bringing about the Korean Cultural Center that will open in the second half of this year in Budapest. He was also instrumental in the enhancement of bilateral scientific and technological cooperation.
