Hungarian President János Áder has sent a letter of condolence to the President of France, Francois Hollande, expressing his deepest sympathy on behalf of the Hungarian people to the families and relatives of the victims of the series of terrorist attacks in Paris Friday night. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán also expressed his condolences as did the democratic opposition parties. On the other hand, a statement by the right extremist parliamentary party Jobbik focused on ties between terrorism and migration.
"Allow me to hereby express - on behalf of the entire Hungarian people - sincere condolences to the innocent victims' relatives and dependents. We share the pain and in our heart, we have sympaty for those injured in these vile attacks, and whom we wish speedy and complete recovery," the Hungarian President's letter says.
"Reading the shocking news, I feel it is my duty to reiterate: we strongly condemn terrorism, and we turn away with contempt from all those obsessed with violence. We believe that joining forces for the protection of human values, our peaceful European civilization, we will succeed to restrain those who preach only the havoc and cause so much suffering throughout the world," it adds.
