The Hungarian Embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus also provides political representation of Canada as of March 5, 2012. An agreement on this matter between Hungary and the North American country was concluded this Tuesday.
The Hungarian Foreign Ministry issued a communiqué on Tuesday on Hungary and Canada concluding an agreement on the political representation. Similar co-operation already took place in Tripoli in Libya, in the course of 2011 when Hungarian diplomacy did an excellent job in representing other countries, including the United States.
The communiqué states that with this request, Canada – as an important transatlantic partner – put its trust in Hungary again and Hungarian diplomacy endeavors to carry out this task by meeting the usual high standards.
