The Diplomacy & Trade Business Club (The Club) presented the Irish focus of Diplomacy & Trade in the Gundel Restaurant in Budapest with diplomats, businesspeople and members of the Irish community in Hungary attending the event this Monday evening..
The Ambassador of Ireland to Hungary, Kevin Dowling thanked the publisher and staff of Diplomacy & Trade for the Irish country focus in the publication and presenting the different aspects of bilateral relations in it. He also outlined some the priorities of the Irish Presidency of the European Council.
The main speaker of the event was economist-sociologist Ákos Kozák, the Director of GfK Hungária market research company, who spoke about changes in Hungarian society in the past two decades and answered several questions from the audience.
Also addressing the audience were Mark Turley, the President of Pannónia Ethanol, one of the companies featured in the Irish country focus, and former Hungarian ambassador to Greece and the United Kingdom, Tádé Alföldi, the current managing director of Gundel Restaurant.
Musical entertainment was provided by a duo of a harp artist and a singer performing Irish, English and Hungarian songs.
