The new ambassador of the United States of America presented his letter of credentials to Hungarian President János Áder in the Sándor Palace in Budapest this Monday. Ambassador Cornstein arrived in Budapest on June 22, 2018. The previous US ambassador, Colleen Bell left her post in January 2017.
President Trump nominated David B. Cornstein of New York as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary on February 13, 2018.
Mr. Cornstein had his confirmation hearing before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on May 9. The U.S. Senate confirmed his nomination on May 24, and Mr. Cornstein took the Oath of Office on May 29.
