Output of Hungary's construction sector climbed 8.9% year-on-year in December, MTI quotes data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday show.
Construction sector output increased 6.5% when adjusted for the number of workdays.
Output of the buildings segment climbed 8.4%, while civil engineering output increased 10.5%.
In absolute terms, construction sector output reached HUF 1,022.1 billion in December. The buildings segment accounted for 66% of the total.
In a month-on-month comparison, construction sector output rose 6.7%, adjusted for seasonal and workday effects.
Order stock was up 48.9% at the end of December compared to twelve months earlier. Buildings segment orders fell 8.5% but civil engineering orders surged 84.9%.
New order volume fell 5.2% during the period. New orders in the buildings segment increased 1.6% and new civil engineering orders slipped 15.1%.
For the full year, output of the construction sector rose 2.8%.
