Sándor Csányi, the head of Central Europe’s largest financial institution OTP Bank, is listed by Forbes magazine among the world’s 1,700 wealthiest people, the USD billionaires. According to Forbes, Csányi's wealth is worth of HUF 287.9 billion (just over USD 1 bn). Csányi is the first ever Hungarian to make it to the Forbes World’s Billionaires list.
According to the financial website portfolio.hu, Csányi's worth was estimated last year at HUF 159.5 billion. The big difference stems from the fact that this year, Forbes included in its assessment the latest report of Csányi’s Singapore-based interests and investment fund, which revealed that he holds HUF 64.5 bn worth of money in its Sertorious fund in Singapore.
