The Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) share index strengthened amid rising turnover this week, with the BUX closing at 102,968.67 points on Friday, up 977.91 points, or 0.96%, from a week earlier, according to MTI.
Weekly turnover was HUF 75.29 billion, following HUF 60.87 billion the previous week, with leading shares declining except for OTP.
Equilor Investment Ltd. highlighted in its weekly summary that Mol's gas capacity in Kurdistan had increased. Commercial gas sales from Pearl Petroleum's USD 1.1 billion gas expansion project began on Wednesday at the Khor Mor facility in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The project adds 250 million standard cubic feet per day of new processing capacity to the Khor Mor facility, increasing Khor Mor's total output by 50% (1.1 billion standard cubic feet per day). Mol holds a 10% stake in the Pearl Petroleum consortium.
This week, Waberer's signed a strategic letter of intent with GYSEV and GYSEV CARGO. The acquisition of a majority stake in GYSEV CARGO announced on December 23, 2024, could not be completed by the planned deadline due to the lack of the necessary financing approval (EIB). Richter's share price fell by 2.26% during the week, closing at HUF 10,360 on Friday, with weekly turnover of HUF 10.33 billion. Mol's share price fell by 0.94% during the week, closing at HUF 2,744 on Friday, with weekly turnover of HUF 5.3 billion. Magyar Telekom's share price fell by 0.78% during the week, closing at HUF 1,786 on Friday, with weekly turnover reaching HUF 2.15 billion.
The BUMIX index of small and medium-sized shares closed at 9,854.58 points on Friday, up 291.10 points, or 3.04%, from the previous week.
