András Kármán, the election-winning Tisza Party's expert on budget and tax policy, met National Bank of Hungary Governor Mihály Varga, at the latter's invitation.
András Kármán said on Facebook that the parties agreed that the financial markets reacted favorably to Tisza's election win, but added that developments in Iran and the resulting energy price hikes continued to create an uncertain environment for investments.
They agreed that setting a target date for the introduction of the euro in Hungary would have a favorable effect on the economy, help reduce interests rates, bring down inflationary expectations and ensure more predictable exchange rates.
At the meeting, András Kármán said that talks with the European Commission had been initiated to release frozen community funding for Hungary, adding that "rapid progress" in the talks could be expected.
Parties at the talks agreed that they would have regular talks to build a constructive cooperation, András Kármán added.
