With the support of the Széchenyi Plan Plus program, Prímaenergia Plc. is implementing an energy project worth nearly HUF 5 billion.

Prímaenergia Plc. is developing a complex, grid-independent energy supply system, and the company has won HUF 236.7 million in EU funding for the almost HUF 4.9 billion investment, the bottled gas and automotive gas distributor told the state news agency MTI.

The aim of the development and the related industrial research is to create an automated unit consisting of solar panels, batteries and a propane gas generator capable of supplying electricity to large facilities independently of the electricity grid.

As a result of the EU-funded development, Prímaenergia will contribute to the environmentally friendly operation of domestic isolated electricity consumers, grids and facilities, and to the reduction of their ecological footprint, they said.

According to the announcement, the project, which is being implemented in the Hort region of Heves County under the Széchenyi Plan Plus program, is scheduled to be completed by January 31, 2025.

According to Opten data, Prímaenergia Plc. employs 267 people and last year, had a turnover of nearly HUF 25.4 billion, for which it achieved a profit of HUF 143.84 million. The majority owner of the company is HO-ME 2000 Vagyonkezelő [‘Property Management’] Ltd., headed by György Nagy, and the company is owned through Westbay Ltd.
