The E.ON Hungária Group has developed an innovative energy storage system, unique at European level, in Zánka at Lake Balaton. With the help of the mobile storage system, the electricity produced with renewable resources can be stored flexibly and used according to the given needs. In addition, this solution makes connecting solar systems to the grid faster and cheaper.
In E.ON's service area, the total performance of grid-connected solar power plants has increased more than 17 times in the last four years alone, and further significant growth can be expected in the future, as environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solar systems are becoming increasingly popular with industrial users and households.
With the help of the energy storage system created in Zánka, energy from renewable sources can be flexibly coordinated with consumer needs. Solar power plants produce most of the energy during the day, but with the help of the energy storage, the energy produced in this way can be used easily at any time of the day whenever it is needed.
Another advantage of the storage system is that it can even lead to significant savings when connecting solar panels to the grid, as its use can also make costly workflows unnecessary. The energy storage handed over at Zánka can be easily transported, installed and commissioned, so the storage unit can later be moved to other locations as required.
The technology used in Zánka also allows customers to contribute to the more cost-effective operation of the energy system by regulating their consumption, while enjoying the benefits of energy storage.
