An exhibition of veteran and modern cars, bicycles and aircraft opened this Saturday in Esztergom, a town along the River Danube northwest of Budapest.
This is the sixth time the exhibition has been held, and a pioneer in its creation is András Neuzer (club president of the Esztergom Vitézek rugby team and managing director of the bicycle manufacturer Neuzer Kerékpár Ltd.), who was awarded the Pro Urbe prize by Esztergom.
The oldest vehicle on display at the ‘Then and Now Vehicle Expo’ is a Ford T-model from the 1920s, which is still in operation today. You can also see a luxury Landauer carriage, mainly used in the 18th century. And the most unique piece is the Hungarian-made Csaba armored car. This year, the exhibition has been extended to include model aircraft.
In addition to the S-CROSS and Vitara models made by the host and main sponsor Magyar Suzuki in Esztergom, the motorcycle and boat engine business will also be represented.
The exhibition is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend program that also features musical performances will end with an evening boat parade between the Szent Erzsébet Bridge and the Kossuth Bridge, where custom-designed lanterns will float down the Danube.
