An exhibition of Herend porcelain titled Royal Weekdays opened at the Hungarian National Museum on Tuesday, organized jointly by Herend Porcelain Manufactory Plc. and the exhibition space.
Herend porcelain is one of Hungary's best known and most recognized brands, sold in almost every corner of the world. Today's exhibition is the first in a series of exhibitions that will show what the 200-year-old Herend Manufactory has contributed to Hungarian applied arts over the centuries.
The exhibition space and the museum's display room showcase a number of valuable Herend porcelain pieces, and in order to ensure that these treasures are not only on display to the Hungarian public, the Herend Manufactory and the Museum of Applied Arts are planning to organize a number of exhibitions abroad in the future.
Attila Simon, CEO of Herend Porcelain Manufactory Plc, said that the current exhibition is a Victoria evocation, as the table set with porcelain includes a classic Victoria pattern from 1851, as well as the Royal Garden pattern painted bowls for Prince William's wedding, which also draws inspiration from the Victoria pattern.
