Hungary's most prominent motor show in history opens its doors to the public and is guaranteed to write a new chapter in the history of Hungarian motoring, according to the organizers. Open all year round, the event offers an exceptionally rich and diverse collection that sheds unprecedented light on the diversity of the automotive industry, with special focus on education.
The 365 Vintage Car Show also boasts three cars, only one of each exists in the world, guaranteeing an experience of uniqueness and rarity. But that's not all, the oldest vehicle in the collection, the Renault Skiff Labourdette Carrose, is just 110 years old. The Ford Model T truck (1926), which used to sell ice in America, was created by the Hungarian József Galamb and is clearly a masterpiece, which, over time, has become a cornerstone of the automotive industry.
The exhibition includes a film theater and a unique educational center that shows the historical development of the automotive industry over the last 100 years. Special attention will be given to Hungarian pioneers such as Donát Bánki, János Csonka, József Galamb, Pál Járay, János Viktor and Béla Barényi, who have played a key role in the development and improvement of the automotive industry worldwide over the past decades.
The organizers also have a surprise for movie lovers with a beautifully restored Porsche 911 crashed by Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 2 and the Porsche 928 he drove in Risky Business. Also on display will be the Rolls Royce Phantom II from the Indiana Jones series and the big brother of the 1912 Renault Type CB Coupe de Ville from Titanic – as will be the Lotus Esprit model from the romantic comedy What a Woman, which is "like a kitten in bed," to quote Julia Roberts. Last but not least, the unmissable James Bond films are also on display, with the Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me, the Volvo 1800 from The Angel and the emblematic vehicle from Strictly Confidential, the yellow Citroen 2CV, which was designed on the model of the film and there are only 1,000 of its kind in the world.
Arie Yom-Tov, the mastermind behind the 365 Classic Car Exhibition and the creator of the Gozsdu Courtyard in Budapest, is now setting up a new car culture center. "My family and I are car lovers, we have been collecting cars from all over the world for 40 years and now it is time to show this treasure trove to the public. These cars are not just vehicles, they are a journey through time, because you cannot build the future without the past. Over the past four decades, these vehicles have become part of our lives and we are proud to showcase them now to share not only our passion for cars, but also our commitment to education. I want to place a strong focus on the younger generation to change and improve the automotive world over time," he says.
The show area covers 2,000 square meters with more than 100 special vehicles, but not all will be on display at the same time, so that the exhibition can change from period to period.
Each month, a 'car of the month' is designated, starting with a special purple 911 G Cabriolet Porsche model for visitors to admire, sit in and take memorable photos of.
