A gastronomic presentation by ethnic minorities living in Hungary was held in the Csaba Garden in Piliscsaba on Saturday. Visitors could taste the specialties of 13 nationalities.
The aim of the festival is to give all 13 ethnic minorities of Hungary the opportunity to showcase their talents in food, dance and music.
The mayor of Piliscsaba, András Farkas, said that this year's event was being hosted by a town that is already multi-ethnic. While there are Swabian villages in the direction of the Buda Hills and Slovak villages in the direction of the Pilis area, Piliscsaba is home to both ethnic nationalities and has been hosting the Roma for centuries.
The ethnic gastronomy presentation was organized by the Cultural Association of the Germans of Piliscsaba, the German Nationality Municipality and the Hauck János German Nationality Primary School as part of the Saturday harvest event.
The program started at 2 p.m. with a harvest parade, followed by a gastro presentation of the 13 ethnic minorities living in Hungary (Bulgarian, Croatian, Gypsy, Greek, Croatian, Polish, German, Armenian, Romanian, Ruthenian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovene, Ukrainian) in the Csaba Garden, where visitors could taste traditional food and drinks.
