The Le Primore Hotel & SPA, which will open its doors as Hungary's largest premium spa hotel, is counting mainly on domestic tourists and guests from neighbouring countries in Hévíz, the hotel's director, Alfred Hackl said at a press tour on Tuesday.

The director told MTI that the five-star superior hotel can accommodate more than 600 guests in 285 rooms. The hotel counts mainly on Hungarian tourists, but it also counts on guests from neighbouring countries, Germany and Switzerland.

The investment cost around 34 billion HUF. (According to a previous announcement, the owner Event Horizon Capital Plc. won a grant of nearly 8 billion HUF from the Kisfaludy Tourism Development Programme.)

The hotel currently employs 250 people. Around 200 people commute to work from Hévíz and the surrounding area, and another 50 employees are from the Philippines.

Built on a 3.4-hectare site, the six-storey hotel features unique architecture, high-end restaurants, penthouse suites on the top floor, a special rooftop pool, and a conference center for 300 people.

The 11,000-square-meter spa pools are filled with thermal water from the hotel's own wells, and there is also a sauna area and special spa and spa services, as well as a children's area for guests of all ages.

The hotel manager stressed that environmental protection and sustainability have been a key focus of the investment and operation.

The construction took place next to a protected wetland area and the hotel site was previously used as an illegal landfill.

In cooperation with the environmental and nature conservation authorities, 45,000 cubic metres of industrial waste were removed from the site during the reclamation.

The hotel will be run with renewable resources, using as little plastic as possible in its operations and aiming to recycle waste.

Alfred Hackl said that they started selling rooms three months ago, until now only in Hungary, but that when they opened they were already welcoming 190 guests, mostly from Hungary, with a small number of Austrians.
