The second motorway border crossing between Hungary and Romania was handed over on Friday in the presence of the Hungarian and Romanian Foreign Ministers and the Romanian Minister of Transport.
The Nagykereki-Bors II. motorway border crossing connects the Hungarian M4 motorway with the five-kilometer section of the Romanian A3 motorway.
On the Hungarian side, a 26.5-kilometer section of the newly inaugurated road leads to the border crossing point. On this new section between Gáborján and Nagykerek, 20 bridges, a junction, a rest area, an axle weight measuring station, nearly 2.5 kilometers of bird protection walls and 540 meters of noise protection walls have been built . Construction cost HUF 83 billion net. For the time being, the Romanian side has a 5.3-kilometer highway section, which joins the Oradea - Satu Mare national main road near Bihar.
