On behalf of the Ministry of European Union Affairs, Minister János Bóka signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Hungarian representation of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Hungary), MTI quotes a social media post by the minister.
The agreement aims to ensure that direct consultation results in better quality, more effective legislation that is responsive to the public interest and the realities of life in the areas under the responsibility of the Minister of EU Affairs, he wrote.
According to him, the [upcoming] Hungarian presidency [of the European Union] has been given a mandate by the European Council to draw up a new European competitiveness pact, and a competitive Europe is not possible without the contribution of the business sector.
The presidency will engage in a dialogue on whether a European industrial policy is needed and how to achieve a green transition in Europe in a way that does not green European industry and does not break it down. Reducing the administrative burden caused by EU rules, detailed legislative impact assessments and meaningful consultations with economic operators are also important for strengthening European competitiveness, the minister wrote.
