The Balaton Sound Festival is held for the seventh time in 2013 at Hungary's fanciest beach, Zamárdi, along the shore of Lake Balaton. Five major and several minor venues await festival-goers twenty-hours a day with a wide choice of musical programs.
It features jazz ensembles provide sonic background for sunbathing. Otganizers urge participants to chill out watching the sunset listening to prominent DJs or just to enter the night of superstar DJs and bands.
"In daytime, the shallow lake is full with partygoers, playing in the water or taking a nap on floating matresses. In the afternoon there's chill music on some stages but in the evening the festival is on full power. At night it's partytime till the sun comes up and people take their first dive into the lake again."
Lake Balaton is the biggest lake in Central Europe. In July the water has an avarage temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, the lake bed is sandy and the water is clean since there's no industry. Since the lake is very shallow, it's also a great dancefloor..
