The Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ in the United States hosts the exhibition ‘Beyond Rubik’s Cube’ held at the 40th anniversary of the invention of the Rubik’s cube by Hungarian architect and toy designer Ernõ Rubik.
The exhibition with 7,000 sq ft (650 sq m) of games, puzzles, history, art, and engineering, all inspired by Ernõ Rubik's best-selling masterpiece has been attened by Ernõ Rubik, himself and also visted by the Preident of the Republic of Hungary, János Áder.
As the website of the exhibition notes, "in 1974, at the age of twenty nine, Ernõ Rubik designed a small puzzle for his students made from wood blocks and paper clips. A year later, he would patent the most successful puzzle game the world has ever known."
