Businessman Alexander Brody Passes Away

Renowned Hungarian-American businessman, author and marketing executive Alexander Brody, the grandson of Hungarian writer Sándor Bródy, passed away in Budapest, two weeks after reaching the age of 89 years.

Born as Sándor Bródy in Budapest, he grew up in the Hungarian capital and went to the United States at the age of fifteen, where he took the name Alexander Brody, the news site 24-hu reports.

After graduating from Princeton University, he joined the advertising firm Young and Rubicam, where he went from a delivery boy to international director of the company in just thirty-four years. Between 1984 and 1987, he was President of the World Advertising Federation.

He retired in 1993, spending more and more time in Hungary.

He was the founder of the Sándor Bródy Award and one of the founders and patrons of the János Bolyai Creative Award.
