COVID-19: More Fatalities, Fewer Active Infections

Although the number of deaths has increased, according to the latest data, the number of new infections and active infections in Hungary has decreased. The number of cured cases is steadily increasing, according to data published on Wednesday by the related government website koronavirus.gov.hu.

In the past week, 118 patients, mostly elderly and chronic, died, bringing the total number of deaths to 47,798.

A total of 11,947 new infections were confirmed last week, bringing the total number of identified infections to 2,132,490 since the beginning of the epidemic, while the number of active infections is 35,043.

There are currently 1,597 patients with coronavirus in hospital, 18 of whom are on ventilators. The number of recovered patients is steadily increasing and currently stands at 2,049,649.

The number of vaccinated persons is 6,418,810, of whom 6,205,327 are on their second vaccination, 3,898,566 on their third and 357,678 on their fourth.

A week earlier, 12,636 new cases of coronavirus were identified and 104 patients died.
