More than 130 individuals participated in the financial awareness and self-sufficiency training program organized by Provident Financial Ltd. and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid. This initiative marks the first year of a partnership aimed at enhancing the financial literacy of disadvantaged groups and promoting self-sufficiency among affected families. Building on the success of the past year, the program plans to expand its support offerings in the coming year, according to a press release by Provident.
At eight locations, 68 young people and 63 adults benefited from financial education sessions supported by staff from Provident and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid. Additionally, financial knowledge experience days were organized in four elementary schools in disadvantaged regions, and two groups of children had the opportunity to visit the Money Museum.
"We were able to assist many financially invisible individuals through this program," Viktor Boczán, CEO of Provident Financial Ltd., said. "We engaged in various activities that created opportunities for the most disadvantaged social groups to reconnect with regulated finance. Our volunteers participated enthusiastically, and we are pleased to announce that we can count on even more helpers in the future. Supporting our fellow humans through education is our primary goal and part of our mission," he added.
As part of the collaboration, Provident employees conducted personal financial education sessions for the staff of the aid organization, enabling them to further disseminate financial knowledge to those in need.
László Lehel, President and Director of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, emphasized the significance of the initiative: "The focus of our work is to create opportunities in all areas. Both the financial awareness strengthening program and the small garden program were born with Provident's support. Our experiences confirm that we are on the right path, and the valuable lessons we have gathered will help us expand the program. The exemplary involvement of Provident's employees in achieving our goals and their participation in our charity work is commendable. Each occasion deepens our partnership and collaborative thinking."

Building on the experiences of the first year, Provident will continue its cooperation with the Hungarian Interchurch Aid in 2024. This support aims to further expand the financial knowledge of those in need and help create more stable financial situations.
The Little Garden program, part of the cooperation between Provident and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, is gaining new momentum. Families will receive seedlings and professional support for plant care to successfully grow their own vegetables and fruits. The goal remains to encourage self-sufficiency, regular work, and a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.
Plans are also in place to expand the Financial Awareness Program to ten new locations, helping even more disadvantaged groups make informed financial decisions and avoid the debt spiral.
Additionally, the "Conscious Life - Step by Step" contest will continue, recognizing the everyday successes of families facing difficult circumstances. Provident will continue to provide support to residents of the Transitional Homes for Families maintained by the Hungarian Interchurch Aid in the coming year.
