Garantiqa, Most Active Guarantor in Europe

Hungary's Garantiqa Hitelgarancia was the most active guarantor in Europe last year, an annual report by the European Association of Guarantee Institutions (AECM) shows.

In a press release on Wednesday, Garantiqa said that it had headed the AECM ranking for the third year in a row.

The report shows outstanding guarantee volume of Garantiqa reached the equivalent of 3.7% of GDP in 2024, ahead of France (3.5%) and Romania (2.2%).

Garantiqa had over 71,000 contracts with close to 54,000 businesses at year-end. Its surety stock reached HUF 2,558 billion, backing up HUF 3,319 billion in credit. New contract volume was over HUF 1,020 billion.
