Google is extending its flood prediction platform to Hungary, the company's press office told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Google has been working for a long time to help tackle the climate crisis through artificial intelligence, and as part of its efforts, it is expanding its flood forecasting capabilities to 80 countries.
The service is expanding now to another new countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, South and Central America, including Hungary.
Governments, aid agencies and individuals in these regions can now access critical information up to seven days in advance (48 hours earlier than last year). They can now prepare for floods and adapt to changing conditions thanks to Flood Hub, Google's platform.
“The platform will display flood forecasts for 460 million people in the area, showing when and where floods will occur," the statement said.
