The Hungarian Business Leaders Forum (HBLF) presented Ambassador David Nájera with the Visionary Leadership Award this year, recognizing the work of the Mexican Embassy for Diversity and Gender Equality.
Ambassador Nájera and the President of the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum (HBLF), Borbála Czakó renewed their commitment to diversity, values based on mutual respect, and non-discriminatory opportunities. They also undertook to develop a culture that promotes rights and responsibilities within the framework of equal treatment and reflects them towards society. As the exclusive representative of the EU Diversity Charter, HBLF promotes at the international level an initiative supported by the Hungarian government so far joined by more than 40 Hungarian and transnational companies in Hungary.
Prior to signing the EU Diversity Charter, Ambassador David Nájera said that the Mexican Embassy in Hungary had been supporting the issue of tolerance and gender equality for three years. The EU Diversity Charter is in line with the concept of Feminist Foreign Policy promoted by the Mexican government's Ministry of Foreign Relations and its representations. He added that in these difficult times, it is extremely important to support initiatives such as the work of the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum. Furthermore, along with the above, the Embassy presented a collection of works by contemporary female artists, which represent together the strength and creativity of Hungarian women.
For her part, Borbála Czakó, stated that David Nájera was the first ambassador accredited in Budapest to undertake the initiative. The President of the HBLF added that the Embassy of Mexico made outstanding efforts to promote cultural and gender diversity. After the President and the Ambassador signed the EU Diversity Charter, Borbála Czakó presented the Visionary Leadership Award on behalf of HBLF members, recognizing the work of the Mexican Embassy for Diversity and Gender Equality.
Combining the signing ceremony of the EU Diversity Charter with the promotion of gender equality and diversity, the Embassy opened an exhibition, with the support of art historian Edina Koltai, which presenting 20 works by 11 contemporary Hungarian artists.
